Learn the art of Katazome from a Hervey Bay Local.   Katazome is old school indigo dyeing.  Katazome is a Japanese stencil dyeing technique. ("Kata" meaning "mold" and "zome" meaning "to dye"), using paste-resist process and stencils. Traditionally, it was often used to produce fabric for kimono.  Katazome involves dyeing and printmaking techniques - whats NOT to love.  

During this workshop, learn the basics of katazome, the preparation of the fabric and resist paste, the making of stencils, the application of the paste onto fabric, and the dyeing of the fabric in a natural indigo vat. Along with having access to stencils.

All dye materials are provided along with scarves/teatowels/linen bag/placemat (you select which one you want to dye).  You are welcome to bring additional items, recommend lightweight cotton/natural fabric
